My client Matt came to me thinking...maybe my testosterone is why I'm feeling like crap and can't lose fat? Here's the connection most guys miss. Your liver makes SHBG. When SHBG runs high, less testosterone stays free and usable in your body. There's another piece most guys never connect. Your liver also clears excess estrogen. When liver function is off, estrogen doesn't clear the way it should. It recirculates. That's part of what drives man boobs and stubborn fat around the chest, even in guys with a totally normal testosterone number. You're not low T. Your liver isn't doing its job clearing what it's supposed to clear. So what actually drives liver function down? A handful of the usual suspects: Regular alcohol intake, even what feels like a normal amount. Ultra-processed food and high fructose intake, especially from drinks and snacks. Poor sleep, which limits the liver's overnight repair window. Excess body fat, particularly around the midsection, which drives fatty liver. Chronic medication or supplement stacking without ever checking how your liver is handling the load. Matt came to me at 236 pounds after relocating cross-country for work, run down and assuming his testosterone was the issue. Your liver affects more than liver enzymes. Hormone metabolism. Blood sugar. Lipids. Nutrient processing. It's all connected. Before you chase a testosterone number, get your liver checked. ALT, AST, and GGT tell you what's actually going on under the hood. You probably already know a lot about getting in shape. Eat more protein.Lift weights.Walk more.Sleep better.Stop eating like an asshole on the weekends. The people we coach usually aren’t missing information. They’re successful, driven people who’ve gotten to a point where what used to work isn’t working like it used to. I hear versions of this constantly: “I know what to do. I just need a clear plan.” Or… “I’m doing more than I used to, but somehow I look softer.” That’s exactly why we...
I used to be the guy writing articles about why men didn’t need TRT—and why women didn’t need HRT. And I had the bloodwork to back it up. My testosterone sat in the 700s–800s through my mid-20s and into my early 30s. I figured I’d stay that way forever. I was wrong. Because something happens as you get older: Life speeds up at the same time your physiology starts slowing down. And when you’re carrying more than the average person, a generic “pass/fail” approach to your labs doesn’t always...
I get asked about peptides constantly. Here's where I actually stand.Personally, I don’t use any peptides. They can work, sure. However, they're not a shortcut. They're not a replacement for sleep, protein, training, or stress management. Think of them as a force multiplier — something layered on top of fundamentals that are already dialed in, not a fix for fundamentals that aren't. Since you're on this list, here's slightly more of the real picture than I'd post publicly: the categories worth...
