The Power of Focus

You can do anything, but you can't do everything at once.

The biggest mistake I see? Having no clear goal (ex: "I just want to get in shape.") or chasing conflicting goals at the same time.

Example:

People often say, “I want to build muscle and lose fat.”

Here’s the problem: building muscle and losing fat require opposite conditions.

  • Fat loss needs a consistent calorie deficit — but that slows muscle growth.
  • Muscle gain needs a calorie surplus — which usually comes with a little fat gain.

Yes, getting lean first can make muscle-building more efficient later.

Yes, building muscle can speed up metabolism long-term.

But if you chase both at once?

➡️ You’ll likely spin your wheels, program-hop, self-sabotage, and end up frustrated.

The best option:

  • Go all-in on fat loss first.
  • Improve your health from the inside out.
  • Lock in the habits that keep fat off permanently.

You can do anything. But not all at once.

Success requires:

  • Focus: Know where you're going.
  • Passion: Want it badly enough to sacrifice.
  • Mental Toughness: Handle bumps in the road.
  • Accountability: Get someone to guide you and keep you honest.

Interesting Study: Exercise Makes You Smarter

A new study in the Journal of Physiology, "The Effects of Sleep Deprivation, Acute Hypoxia, and Exercise on Cognitive Performance," confirms what we’ve been saying for years:

➡️ Moderate exercise significantly boosts brainpower — even when you’re sleep-deprived or under stress.

  • Improved reasoning
  • Sharper focus
  • Better problem-solving

(Working memory didn’t change much, but everything else improved.)

Why?

Exercise increases physical arousal, energizing your brain — like a mental reset button.

Bottom line:

People say, “I don’t have time or energy to exercise.”

But exercise is the one thing that gives you more time and energy back than it takes.

Most people train their abs wrong — endless daily reps, low tension, poor results.
