Look Great Naked Newsletter: Does Getting Lean Sharpen Your Brain?

Welcome to the Look Great Naked Newsletter!

It’s hard to believe we’re already past Memorial Day, School is ending, dnd summer is here.

I’ve found there are two types of people during the summer…

One type of person is healthy year round. They’re consistent in the gym, with how they eat, and while they still indulge on occasion, they stay consistent.

The other type of person says things like, “I’m too busy…the kids are home…I’m traveling…I'll get back to it once school is done.”

The first type of person sees consistent results.

The second type feels like they’re always starting over.

The key to going from the second type to the first is this…

When life gets busy, slow down but don’t stop.

If you always use busy-ness as an excuse to fall into bad habits and neglect your health, you’re reinforcing the belief that you need perfect circumstances to be healthy. And that’s impossible.

Instead, find a way to be healthy when life is hectic. That's the boss you have to beat. And once you do, you’ll now have the skills to stay healthy when life is busy, and it’ll be even simpler to maintain it when you’re not.

So, don’t use busy-ness as an excuse. Use it as a reason to fix the issue once and for all. Besides, if you’re healthier…you’ll have more energy, focus, and discipline to handle everything that makes life busy.

Leaner Body, Sharper Brain?

A new study published in JAMA Network Open reveals that adults with leaner physiques show significantly better brain function in old age. MRI scans and cognitive tests confirm that maintaining a healthy waist-to-hip ratio is linked to improved memory, executive function, and brain connectivity. The takeaway? A fit body isn't just about looking great naked—it’s vital for long-term mental performance.

Vitamin D’s Bright Impact on Depression

Groundbreaking research from Psychological Medicine confirms that vitamin D supplementation significantly reduces depressive symptoms, especially in those with deficiencies. By regulating serotonin and reducing brain inflammation, vitamin D acts as a natural mood stabilizer. If you’ve been feeling low, sunshine—or a simple supplement—might be a missing key to better mental health.

Anecdotally, I agree. As someone who grew up with long-winters in Wisconsin, the more sun I get, the more objectively happy I am.

I’ve helped hundreds of men transform their bodies, optimize their routines, and become better leaders and partners. But now, I’m making a transformation of my own—and I want to be transparent with you about it. Last week, I started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Why am I telling you this? Because transparency is sorely lacking in the fitness industry. I’m not here to posture or pretend. And frankly, it frustrates me when people claim a natural physique that’s only possible with...
